Haley Wood, lying on a coffee table in the living room of his $2 million apartment on Lafayette St. The card, dated Feb. 14, 2009, read "Thank God you're in my life. I love you," the source told People. A mirror was also propped outside the front door of the apartment and another was leaning against the door of the bedroom where DJ AM was found, the source said. The source said DJ AM, 36, whose real name was Adam Goldstein, "smoked a lot of crack, barricaded the doors and killed himself." Goldstein's BlackBerry was filled with messages from worried friends. One read, "Some [expletive] just said you're dead. Better text me back." DJ AM swallowed a fatal handful of the powerful painkiller OxyContin in an apparent suicide, a report claims. Even as he was losing consciousness the celebrity spinner took one last OxyContin pill - found in his mouth when his body was discovered Friday night in his SoHo pad, a law enforcement source told People magazine.
“I was spending a fortune on cocaine, a nasty evil drug that tears your life apart,” Rogers was quoted as saying. “I’ll be honest. about a quarter of a million pounds of my win has been wasted on it.” The News reported earlier in August that the young woman who won millions from the lottery as a teenager was broke, but much happier that way. At the tender age of 16, Rogers won a jackpot of 1.9 million pounds, or about $3.1 million. But the stress of overnight riches caused lots of problems for the teen at a time in life when a minimum-wage job is more than many kids can manage. “My life is a shambles and hopefully now it [the lottery jackpot] has all gone I can find some happiness. It’s brought me nothing but unhappiness. It’s ruined my life,” another article in the Daily Mail quoted a friend of Rogers as saying.
