The Catholic church released a statement recently saying that Christianity is compatible with evolution. I released one saying that the two are not at all compatible. Genesis says that God made man in His own image (a moral entity), as male and female, with the ability to reproduce after their own kind (within their own species). Jesus affirmed this by saying “In the beginning God made them male and female” (Mark 10:6). The Scriptures also differentiate between the flesh of animals and the flesh of human beings--"All flesh is not the same flesh.
William Donahue, the eloquent and intelligent president of the Catholic League responded with the heading “The simple mind of Ray Comfort,” and rightly called me a “Protestant.” He said, “Protestant author Ray Comfort recently said that ‘the Vatican has chosen to officially believe Darwin rather than Jesus.’ He accuses the Catholic Church of failing to exercise ‘common sense’ and of failing to think ‘too deeply’ about evolution.
“The best-selling author doesn’t mince words: ‘The Vatican, in essence, is saying ‘Don’t believe Jesus or Genesis. Believe Darwin instead.’ He even goes so far as to say that ‘In the name of diversity, the Vatican is encouraging atheism, and that’s a terrible betrayal of Christianity.’ Comfort is wrong. The fact is that in the 1950s, Pope Pius XII said there was no conflict between evolution and the doctrine of faith, as long as God was not excluded. Pope John Paul II affirmed this teaching in the mid-1990s.

Steven Page
Steven Page, 38, was arrested in July 2008 and charged with drug possession after police found the singer with cocaine at an upstate New York apartment. In October, the charges were reduced to a misdemeanor. "By mutual agreement, Steven Page will be parting company with the remaining members of Barenaked Ladies," the band said on its Web site, saying Page would be pursuing solo projects.
The five-man group was best known for hit songs such as "One Week", "Pinch Me" and "If I Had a Million Dollars" and received two Grammy nominations. The remaining members of the band plan to stay together. "These guys are my brothers. We've grown up together over the past twenty years. I love them and wish them all the best in the future," the statement quoted Page as saying. It did not mention the drug bust.
Barenaked Ladies lead singer Steven Page has announced he is leaving the Canadian pop group after more than two decades. "Yes, it's official. I am no longer a Barenaked Lady. After 20 years (plus a few months,) I'm heading out on my own," Page wrote in a posting on his official Web site. A message on the band's official Web site said the Barenaked Ladies plan to continue performing together without Page, the National Post said. "These guys are my brothers. We've grown up together over the past 20 years. I love them and wish them all the best in the future," Page said in a statement on the band's Web site.
Barenaked Ladies
Barenaked Ladies, who was charged with drugs offenses in the United States last year, is leaving to pursue a solo career, the group said on Wednesday. I love them and wish them all the best in the future,” Page writes on the BNL Website. The band will continue on without Page, entering the studio in April 2009 to record a new album. "These guys are my brothers. We've grown up together over the past twenty years. I love them and wish them all the best in the future," the statement quoted Page as saying. Cerebral Palsy
Cerebral palsy refers to a set of neurological conditions that affect movement and coordination. It is caused by abnormal development or damage to the parts of the brain that control muscle and motor activity, usually before, during or shortly after birth. It is usually diagnosed in infancy or early childhood. Babies with cerebral palsy have trouble rolling over, sitting, crawling and walking. The disease can also cause muscle stiffness, uncontrolled movements, problems with posture, balance, and coordination.
Cerebral palsy is linked to other conditions like mental retardation, breathing problems, skeletal deformities, digestive problems, and hearing and vision difficulties. The condition ranges widely in its severity. In some cases, it affects only one side of the body or both of the legs. But in nearly 80 percent of cases, it affects the entire body. Many people with cerebral palsy have normal or above-average intelligence, but may have difficulties in communicating. There is no cure for cerebral palsy, but many treatments can help alleviate symptoms.
When a 15 year old Northern Ireland girl finds out that she is pregnant, it is rarely a cause for celebration. When that girl is the oldest of 4 children living with their parents in a small, publicly-owned, terraced house in a run-down housing estate in an area of low incomes and high unemployment, it is even less a joyful occasion. Abortion was not a feasible option for her because, at that time, abortion for any reason, except for the risk that the mother might die if the pregnancy continued, was illegal.
Michigan Lottery
The Michigan Lottery is launching a new raffle game that gives players the chance to buy a $10 ticket and win up to $700,000. Lucky 7s tickets go on sale Monday. A tentative drawing is scheduled for May 4. The game will feature 19,820 cash prizes, including two top prizes of $700,000; 18 prizes of $70,000 each; 1,800 tickets worth $1,700; and 18,000 tickets good for $70. Lottery spokeswoman Andi Brancato tells The Detroit News the new game offers cash-strapped players a more cost-effective chance to claim a big jackpot.
Tuesday night's $145 million multi-state Mega Millions Lottery drawing has gone off and the results are being tallied. With this enormous multi-million dollar jackpot up for grabs, Mega Millions players from all across the nation are anxiously waiting to see the winning numbers. The $145 million grand prize means that there would be an over $95 million cash out option for this draw.
More tickets sold means more winners. Just like in last Friday's draw. Eight lucky Mega Millions player were able to match five out of five numbers only missing the Mega Ball number for a $250,000 prize. The quarter-million dollar winners were from Michigan, New Jersey, New York and Virginia, two from each state respectfully. Another 62 winners each matched four out of five numbers plus the Mega Ball number on Friday night to take home a real nice $10,000 cash prize.

Sophia Loren
Sophia Loren and Sharon Stone, chose to wear Damiani jewels. Sophia arrived at the famed Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles wearing a Masterpiece jewel from her namesake collection by internationally renowned Italian jeweler Damiani. She complemented the magnificent choker with a bracelet and earrings from the Sophia Loren collection. She is the muse of the precious collection named after her, reaffirming the strong bond that exists between Damiani and Sophia, the greatest Italian actress of all times –winner of two Academy Awards.
As it has become customary, many other stars chose to wear spectacular jewels from the Milan-based jewelry house, which brings to Los Angeles selected and one-of-a-kind pieces specially for the occasion. Sasha Alexander Ponti, Ms. Loren’s daughter-in-law, wore the Fabiola collection by Calderoni, one of the brands of the Damiani Group; Jada Pinkett-Smith, Sophia Milos and Tichina Arnold are among the actresses who dazzled in Damiani jewels.

Sean Penn
Sean Penn, there is forever the sense that he has demons of his own to beat back before he can slip underneath the skin of whatever character is awaiting dissection on the table in front of him. The knives are always at the ready, the guns loaded, the enemy awaits. And so it felt with "Milk" that there were wounds that he needed to suffer through first to excavate the soul of the slain San Francisco politician and gay-rights activist Harvey Milk.
Though Penn has countless performances from the searing to the sublime, "Milk" became the crucible that would test him, revealing a new essential core of complexity within an already complex actor's actor. It is in the ever-so-slight release of tension that seems to always play across Penn's body, the bare tilt of his head, the way his voice pirouetted around the homilies he is preaching. In "Milk," he found his way to new emotional depths.
Accepting the award for best actor for playing gay politician Harvey Milk, Milk's Sean Penn joked that the Academy was a group of "homo loving sons of guns!" "I did not expect this. I am touched by the appreciation," said Penn, who previously won for Mystic River. Before leaving the stage, he gave a shout out to fellow nominee Mickey Rourke ("he is my brother," Penn said). Piggybacking off the themes of Milk, he also told the audience, "We've got to have equal rights for everyone."
Jennifer Aniston at 2009 Oscars
Jennifer Aniston at 2009 Oscars has created a unique buzz with her presence because the media was making predictions if she would be present in a same location with her former husband Brad Pitt. Hair Boutique writes: "It was unclear what category Jennifer would presenting and whether or not she would walk the Red Carpet and thus risk running into Brangelina, as the media refers to them.
"When Jen glided down the Red Carpet on the arm of the tall and handsome John Mayer she was resplendent in a silver Valentino gown which fit her perfectly. The gown was strapless with beautiful detailing which highlighted her spectacular figure." Think Fashion: "Two of Hollywood's hottest stars, Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston, were both attendees at last night's Oscars and it was interesting to see how the two actresses interacted with one another.
StarTribune: "Presenter Jennifer Aniston, within clawing distance of Angelina Jolie, somehow resisted the temptation to leave Jack Black's side and leap into the front row. If only the show's director had showed the same restraint. He went to a shot of Jolie in the crowd twice during Aniston's bit. Jolie, ever the professional, was wearing a big smile both times." "While Angie and Jen never met face-to-face (we're pretty sure Aniston skipped the red carpet), they seemed to be able to co-exist in the same auditorium without making a scene."
Inspiration Cafe
Inspiration cafe, no matter how you slice it was providing a ton of inspiration to people last night. The cafe was featured in an ad (directed by Helen Hunt) for TrueNorth snack products. Kinda crazy stuff how Inspiration Cafe became such a buzz overnight. I did a recent search for the phrase and found out that this place actually does job training as well! Cool stuff indeed…and inspirational.
Lisa Nigro is the founder of the Inspiration Cafe in 1989. She is the subject of an inspiration 60-second commercial airing in the Oscars 2009/ Academy Awards. This was the press release about "Lisa Nigro and the Inspiration Cafe" "After receiving thousands of entries, the TrueNorth(R) nut brand announced today that it has selected the inspirational story of Lisa Nigro, founder of Inspiration Cafe, to be featured in a 60-second commercial directed by Oscar(R)-winning actress Helen Hunt."
While I'm certain that Chef Tom wasn't in the drawing room when this ad was crafted, one local restaurant sprang to mind when I saw the wire contraption that was the object of scorn and ridicule, a place that gets a lot of press and fanfare and whose chef has a lot of name recognition in the industry (and who also is a huge Diet Coke fan himself) sprang to mind. In related news, Inspiration Cafe was featured in an ad (directed by actress Helen Hunt) for TrueNorth snack products that also aired last night.
Jerry Lewis
Jerry Lewis is known as one of show business' silliest and most outrageous clowns. But when he was honored Sunday night during the Oscars for his humanitarian work, he played it straight. "This touches my heart and the very depths of my soul, not only because of who this award is from, but who it will benefit," Lewis said in accepting the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award. "My humility is staggering."
Lewis, who received a standing ovation when he emerged from backstage, also thanked the Hollywood community, adding that working in the movie industry is "the joy of everything I do." The award, given to an individual whose "humanitarian efforts have brought credit to the industry," was presented to Lewis for his work on behalf of the Muscular Dystrophy Assn., which has raised more than $2 billion.
Lewis has been the group's national chairman since 1952, and he has been "the No. 1 volunteer" of the annual Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon since 1966. The short acceptance speech by Lewis, who will turn 83 next month, was a bit of a surprise. The entertainer, who can be alternately gracious, silly, cocky and prickly, was considered one of the Oscar ceremony's wild cards. In a wide-ranging career of more than 50 films in which he often mixed his acting duties with writing, producing and directing, he had never been nominated for an Oscar.

Oscar Winners
Oscar winners that everyone keeps forwarding to me is definitely nothing but a fake. It’s amazing that people still haven’t figured out not to believe everything they see on the internet. But for those of you who don’t believe it, E Online got the Academy to comment on it. They’ve confirmed that the document, which I’ve posted below, is “a complete fraud”. It would be impossible for such a list to have been leaked. This first started making the rounds on Wednesday or Thursday, before the winners had even been determined. Ballots were still being counted, no one knew the winners.
I always feel bad that I don't get at least 90% of all my Oscar predictions correct. I have a degree in cinema studies! From a real college! All I do all day is watch movies and think about movies and write about movies! So when I come up with my measly 50% average, I just think it's all a cruel joke and that all my knowledge can't compare with the infinite wisdom of a coin flip.
But like Charlie Brown and a football, I'm back again, thinking I can predict the winners. I rarely account for upsets and tend to play it safe and whenever I think I know better, Oscar turns right around and kicks me in the face. So take these predictions with a grain of salt, be glad that it's too late to try and use them in your office Oscar pool, and come back later to see me humiliated once more.
Colin Farrell sex tape
Colin Farrell sex tape back in 2002 and he just can’t get away from it. Well, the sexy Irish bad boy with his smoldering eyes and body to die for in a sex tape? No one is wanting to forget about that video. The naughty tape features Farrell with hot Playboy Playmate Nicole Narain. She and her friend, Candace Smith were sued by Ferrel to prevent the tape from being released.
Why is that Hollywood stars never learn to not to make sex tapes? They always get put on the internet and everybody talks about them and looks and snickers. Or, they get used for blackmail. Either way, its just not a real good idea to film yourself doing naughty things on tape.
It was when Farrell tried to get the tape back that their stories go in different directions. She claims that he asked for a copy of the tape and when she took it to get copied it disappeared. He claims he asked her to join with him in his effort to keep the tape from being made public. He also says she refused and was part of the plan to sell it.
Kenzie Marie Houk
Kenzie Marie Houk murder 2/20/2009 Wampum, PA 11 year old Jordan Brown, son of her boyfriend, arrested for the murder of Kenzie Houk, who was 8 months pregnant. An 11-year-old boy shot his father's pregnant girlfriend in the back of the head while she was in bed, then got on the school bus, authorities said. Jordan Brown, of Wampum, Pennsylvania, was charged on Saturday as an adult with murdering Kenzie Marie Houk, who was eight months pregnant, and her unborn baby, Lawrence County District Attorney John Bongivengo said.
An 11-year-old boy is facing adult charges in the shooting death of his father's pregnant girlfriend, authorities said Saturday. Police say the boy shot Kenzie Marie Houk, who was eight months pregnant, once at point-blank range in her farmhouse in western Pennsylvania. The boy, whose name was withheld by CNN because he is a juvenile, was charged with one count each of criminal homicide and homicide of an unborn child in the death of Houk, 26, Lawrence County District Attorney John Bongivengo told CNN.
Houk's 4-year-old daughter found her in her bed Friday, according to police. The child alerted landscapers working near the home, who then called authorities. "This is something that you wouldn't even think of in your worst nightmare, that you'd have to charge an 11-year-old with homicide," Bongivengo said, according to CNN affiliate WTAE. "It's heinous, the whole situation." Under Pennsylvania law, anyone over the age of 10 accused of murder or homicide is charged as an adult. If convicted, the boy faces a maximum sentence of life in prison, Bongivengo said.
Shirley Ardell Mason
Shirley Ardell Mason was Sybil If you don't know what Sybil is, it is actually about a psychiatrist who treated a young woman with multiple personality disorder developed as a result of childhood trauma in the hands of her mentally-disturbed, mentally-ill mother. The first airing of Sybil was way back in 1976, that I wasn't able to see for I was not born yet at that time. Sybil will be seen on Lifetime- Sybil remake.
Sybil is a book about a woman, Sybil Dorsett, with multiple personality disorder. Sybil Dorsett was the pseudonym of Shirley Ardell Mason, who was diagnosed as having psychiatric problems after suffering traumatic abuse from her mother. Sybil Dorsett is the name of the Character suffering a dissociative identity disorder due to psychological trauma. In real life Sybil Dorsett is Shirley Ardell Mason.
Shirley Mason became an artist. Some of her 16 personalities also created art which was hidden in a closet in her basement. Mason experienced blackouts and missing time lapses when her personalitiestook over her main personality. After Mason’s death, these art were discovered. Only one piece created by a personality had a signature. The other pieces were unsigned.
Sherm Stick
sherm stick turns out to be an ordinary cigarette dipped in "embalming fluid". No, not formaldehyde, but phencyclidine (PCP). PCP is slanged as "embalming fluid" by drug users because this drug promotes a feeling of numbness to its users. Just like feeling dead, so that explains "embalming fluid". Two unusual terms are now rising in the search engines -- sherm stick and codex gigas.
On the other hand, codex gigas is a very large book dubbed as the devil's bible. It is so large that two people are needed to lug it around. It is known as the devil's bible because the book recounts the experiences of the fallen angel, which is Lucifer or Satan. The book is rumored to be written by Herman the Recluse and it can be found in the Czech National Library. More of the codex gigas can be read here.
So there. I'm not promoting drug use or Satanism here, in fact I'm against these things. It is for the sake of information. As they say a little knowledge about sherm stick of codex gigas might be a dangerous thing Those definition doesn't sound good at all. So that's all for now about Sherm Stick. And why are people searching for the definition of this keyword again. I remember before the same keyword was also searched in volcanic intensity.

Paul Zolezzi
Paul Zolezzi, 30, committed suicide by hanging himself in a park behind the Brooklyn Museum Friday morning. He left a suicide note in an unusual place: his Facebook profile. His body was found hanging from the monkey bars in Mount Prospect Park playground near the Brooklyn Museum at around 7 AM. Paul Zolezzi was an aspiring model. He was troubled by heroin addiction, but also, according to his mother, Stephanie Zolezzi, by a broken engagement two years ago.
An aspiring model struggling with heroin addiction hanged himself in a Brooklyn park early Friday - after forecasting his suicide on Facebook. A jogger discovered the body of Paul Zolezzi, 30, dangling from the monkey bars in the Mount Prospect Park playground near the Brooklyn Museum about 7 a.m., police said. Hours earlier, Zolezzi had updated his Facebook status as an apparent suicide note, saying he was "born in San Francisco, became a shooting star over everywhere, and ended his life in Brooklyn... And couldn't have asked for more."
Paul Zolezzi also lived most of his life without his father, who jumped to his death from the Golden Gate Bridge when Zolezzi was 8 years old. His mother, who still lives in San Francisco, added. "I think he grew up with a hole inside his heart, a void because it was difficult to grow up without a father." A friend didn’t take the his suicide note seriously, posting in reply to the status message: "Are you dying? or just staying brooklyn? I hope its the latter."
Tom Wilson
Tom Wilson is charged in central Pa. Police seek to tie him to Phila. attacks. A West Philadelphia man charged with sexually assaulting women at a central Pennsylvania university is a suspect in similar attacks here, in which five victims were terrorized in Center City and near the University of Pennsylvania. The suspect, Domenique Thomas Wilson, 23, also lived just blocks from the ATMs where the rapist who assaulted women here was photographed using the victims' stolen ATM cards.
Philadelphia Special Victims Unit Lt. Thomas McDevitt said yesterday that detectives here had obtained DNA from Wilson after his arrest in central Pennsylvania. A comparison with evidence collected from Philadelphia crime scenes may be available early next week, he said. Wilson, 23, of the 1000 block of South 51st Street, is accused of entering a Lock Haven apartment on Feb. 1, threatening three female Lock Haven University students with a knife, holding them captive for hours, raping two of them, stealing cell phones and debits cards, and withdrawing money from their bank accounts.
On Oct. 22, in the 900 block of Clinton Street, the assailant forced his way into an apartment as the victim and her boyfriend were on their way out. The boyfriend was bound and gagged, and the woman was sexually assaulted. McDevitt said a television reporter in the Lock Haven area noticed similarities among the cases and contacted Philadelphia detectives. That reporter was Adam Paluka, who is in the State College bureau of WTAJ-TV, the CBS affiliate in Altoona.
Rihanna Breaks Her Silence
Rihanna is breaking her silence after allegedly being beaten by Chris Brown. “At the request of the authorities, Rihanna is not commenting about the incident involving Chris Brown,” says a statement from her rep on Friday. “She wants to assure her fans that she remains strong, is doing well, and deeply appreciates the outpouring of support she has received during this difficult time.”
The "Umbrella" singer, who turns 21 years old today, is also speaking out for the first time -- through a spokesperson. The rep tells Usmagazine.com in a statement that she's "not commenting about the incident involving Chris Brown. "She wants to assure her fans that she remains strong, is doing well, and deeply appreciates the outpouring of support she has received during this difficult time," the statement continues.
Rihanna was spotted in Los Angeles Thursday night for the first time since her alleged assault by Chris Brown. The photos show the singer looking solemn and wearing sunglasses while being driven in the backseat of a car. Not visible: the bruises prevalent on Rihanna's face in the leaked photo taken shortly after she was battered the morning of the Grammys. The "Umbrella" singer, who turns 21 years old today, is also speaking out for the first time -- through a spokesperson.
Conan O Brien
Conan O'Brien concluded his Late Night run last night. Will Ferrell-as-George Bush strolled on to thank O'Brien for years of "humortastical wonderment," and the host's former sidekick Andy Richter crowed, "I told you you'd never last without me!" Together, O'Brien and Richter showed us a lengthy number of skits, most memorably Richter's nude appearance on The Today Show.
There was music: John Mayer wrote an original song that included the lyric, "LA's gonna eat you alive," while the White Stripes did a lovely version of "We're Going To Be Friends." Finally, his voice cracking, Conan assured his audience he would "never grow up" in taking over The Tonight Show. His audience cheered O'Brien's perpetual adolescence. He's the cool-cat Peter Pan of late-night.
Fascinatingly, O'Brien went through a long, gracious list of people he wanted to thank, including producer Lorne Michaels for taking a guy "with no television experience and bad skin" and giving him a show. He spoke fondly and respectfully of Jay Leno, who, Conan said, would "continue to be my lead-in." But it was David Letterman upon whom he lavished his greatest praise, saying that Letterman "invented this late-night show... it all started with David Letterman."
Cave house
cave House located in my hometown in East Tennessee. Too bad the dream faded and I have no desire to move to Missouri, because this cave house is for sale on eBay. The Sleeper family turned the 17,000 square foot into a home that includes the basics like livingroom, bathrooms, bedrooms and a den; but it also includes a party room and a full service laundry area. The bidding starts at $300,000.
Like many others, the Sleepers say they have fallen victim to the financial crunch. They hope to raise the money needed to save the home, if not the cave home goes to the highest bidder. Here is your chance to live in the Stone Age–living with more luxury than Fred Flintstone ever dreamed of. A cave with all the amenities of modern life– a kitchen, laundry room and even a party room is now available on eBay!
The owners provide services, office space, computer systems and marketing, and receive a percentage of every broker’s earnings. The more brokers hired and the more sales they make, the more the owners earn. But since the residential market all but collapsed in October, there has been a sharp drop in closings — the moment when brokers receive their commission checks. That has put pressure on many brokerage firms to reduce their high fixed costs.

Model Amber Rose
Amber Rose, someone who also has a rather interesting sense of taste herself. Kanye and Amber Rose were spotted at after-party for the Narciso Rodriguez fashion show held in the penthouse of New York’s Gramercy Hotel last night. Rose sported cropped hair, and bright red skin tight pants. Kanye West may have met someone who can handle his ego for more than 5 minutes.
Amber Rose is a hot new model and actress. Rumor has it that Amber Rose is dating vocal Hip-Hop star Kanye West, as she has been seen on his arm in a few different chic locations around Los Angeles. Personally, I think she is too hot for Kanye West, regardless of whether George W. Bush does not like black people or not.
We learned all kinds of interesting things at Phillip Lim's show Wednesday afternoon at the tent: (1) Kayne West owns, and wears, what appears to be parts of a marching-band uniform. (2) He's getting pretty cozy with Amber Rose, the model he's been squiring around this week. Clearly, their shared love of wacky eyewear means forever. (3) Rachel Bilson is engaged.
Crystal Cathedral
Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove on Wednesday, knelt down at the foot of a cross and fatally shot himself in the head. The man entered the sanctuary about 9:40 a.m. and gave a handwritten note to a church volunteer. He then walked to the front of the pews, knelt before the cross and removed a semiautomatic handgun from his backpack.
He put the weapon to his head and pulled the trigger, Garden Grove Police Lt. Dennis Ellsworth said. Although Smick's last known address was in Whittier, he was homeless and had been living out of his pickup, according to Garden Grove police, who believe that he stole the handgun used in the shooting from a friend a couple of weeks ago. "That suggests to us he had some type of plan," Capt. Mike Handfield said. "But we haven't talked to anyone who heard he was going to kill himself."
A friend told police that Smick had attended a Bible study in Temecula several weeks before his death. "He was spiritual, but we don't have any record of him being a member at the church," Handfield said. "I said, 'Good morning, welcome to the Crystal Cathedral.' " She asked the man, "Where are you from?" He replied, "Oh, from around here." He handed Spicer a folded note written with a felt-tip pen. Tucked into the middle of the note was his driver's license and what appeared to be a business card. As Smick was walking down the aisle, she began reading the note, which referred to a truck in the parking lot and a gun.
Ryan LeVin
Ryan LeVin, a Hoffman Estates man who is heir to the Jewels by Park Lane fortune. LeVin, 34, said he was not behind the wheel that night. I was not driving," Ryan LeVin told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. He declined to comment further, referring all questions to attorney Keith Seltzer. Seltzer said he had no comment, declining to say even if he's representing LeVin. Ft. Lauderdale police have not named LeVin or anyone else as a suspect in the hit-and-run accident that killed Craig Elford, 39, and Kenneth Watkinson, 48, as the visiting Britons walked back to their Ft. Lauderdale beachfront hotel.
Witnesses called 911 minutes before the two businessmen were struck to report that a Porsche appeared to be racing another light-colored sports car along Seabreeze Boulevard. The Porsche jumped the curb, cutting the men down from behind, within 50 yards of the Courtyard by Marriott hotel, police said. LeVin's damaged Porsche 911 Turbo was found abandoned less than an hour later on the northbound ramp of Interstate Highway 595 to Interstate 95.
Police remained mum about the identity of the Porsche's owner in the days after the crash but issued a news release Wednesday saying the car was registered to LeVin. Cook County court records show that LeVin was sentenced to 30 months' probation in November 2007 after leading Chicago police on a high-speed pursuit in a blue 2001 Porsche Targa. Police estimated he reached speeds of 100 m.p.h. during the July 31, 2006, chase, and he struck several vehicles and injured a police officer and two motorists, according to police reports.
Nintendo DSi
Nintendo Dsi Europe has just announced gamers within its territories be getting the multi-screen multi-cam wonder a full two days earlier, on April 3rd, but hasn't said how much they'll be paying for the privilege. Also, while we're stuck with black and a rather cheeky baby blue, Euro gamers will be getting the more stolid/boring color selection of black or white, which may be good or bad depending on your monochromatic tendencies. Regardless, whether you're domestic or abroad, you'd best get your pre-orders in now.
The DSi has a pretty snazzy audio player and recorder that has some bells and whistles your MP3 player probably doesn't. You can alter the pitch and speed (the latter of which makes lengthy podcasts a bit speedier), as well as add a bunch of neat effects like echoes, reverse play, instrumental only, and 8-bit tunes. You haven't heard "Any Way You Want It" until it's sounded like an NES game.
If you've ever messed around with the iPhoto program on a Macbook, you'll probably dig what Nintendo's doing with the DSi's dual cameras. You can stretch a photo, much like Mario's face in Super Mario 64, as well as play with a bunch of cool picture modes like color mode, wherein you take a black and white picture and reveal colors by tapping on different parts of the pic. Mischief mode adds things like moustaches and glasses to your picture. Merge allows you to morph two different headshots, while frames lets you create custom image templates.
Birthright Israel
Birthright Israel applications open on February 19th and will only be open 3 weeks so Danny is trying to spread the word now as quickly as possible. I offered to help Danny get the world out to young Jewish Professionals in Hi-Tech who haven’t visited Israel before. Danny’s intention with this trip is to showcase a different and unique side of Israel, and hope to make a difference when these young people return to their respective homes/jobs and share this side of Israel that most don't see on CNN.
In addition to visiting the usual spots that Birthright visits, the intention is to introduce people to the Israeli Hi-Tech world and Danny plans to hold meetings with some of the people responsible for the new and innovative technologies that have come out of Israel. Danny Sack from Mayanot, a non-profit educational organisation in Israel recently contacted me and asked for help in finding people aged 22-26 who would be interested in being part of a free 10 day “Hi-Tech” focused Birthright trip to Israel which is scheduled tentatively for June.
Our hope for the future is that the participants of this trip will take part in improving US and Israeli relationships through the high-tech field, and ultimately help steer world opinion of Israel toward its positive contributions to society. With a rapidly increasing prevalence of Israeli technology in the world market, we feel it extremely important to ensure that some of the young and future leaders in the US high-tech field are given an opportunity to see the great potential of the State of Israel, and connect to their Jewish Heritage.
Ovechkin Goal
Ovechkin's goal, one of the most impressive of his distinguished four-year career, came midway through the opening period. Roman Hamrlik's defense partner, Mike Komisarek, missed him with a rinkwide pass, and then Ovechkin beat him to it as it caromed off the boards. Alex Ovechkin had the defining memory of the evening, and his linemates ensured the Washington Capitals collected two points.
Last year's MVP backhanded the puck to himself off the left boards - throwing in a flashy spin move to maneuver around Hamrlik - and then broke for the net. Montreal's Kyle Chipchura hauled Ovechkin down as he tried to go around him with one hand on his stick, but the Russian superstar had enough body control to keep possession of the puck and then slip it inside the near post as he slid between the hash marks on his backside.
"You have to try something new," Ovechkin said of the spin-o-rama in the neutral zone. "Sometimes I try in practice, and [teammates] say, 'What are you doing?' Sometimes I just need to change my game, and it is working." I'd probably rank that one No. 2 [behind 'The Goal']," Steckel said. "He was on his back again, and he still has the hockey sense to stay with it and keep his head down on it. I thought it was pretty amazing.
Scott Siegel
Actor Scott Siegel, who portrayed the hulking steroid dealer Greg in the movie The Wrestler, was arrested Wednesday night in Westchester, New York following a dramatic car chase. Siegel was wanted by federal agents for distributing steroids. Federal and local authorities attempted to pull The Wrestler actor over, but he allegedly took off. During the chase, shots were reportedly fired as officers tried to stop his fleeing black Cadillac Escalade sport utility vehicle. Siegel eluded capture by ramming a couple of police vehicles. He soon crashed his SUV into a gate, and then fled on foot.
Police later spotted him inside another vehicle, and were led on another foot chase. Officers, with guns in hand, soon chased him down and caught him at an intersection. Siegel was arrested and charged with distributing steroids and assaulting a federal officer, both felonies. The actor was taken into federal custody and will be arraigned on Wednesday. Siegel has a previous federal conviction for dealing steroids, ecstasy, and an animal tranquilizer used as a hallucinogen. He now faces charges of assaulting a federal agent. Other charges are pending.
Siegel faces assault on a federal officer and steroid distribution charges. He was arrested in 1999 for distributing steroids, Ecstasy and ketamine and was sentenced to three years in prison. He was released in 2003. In the Academy Award-nominated movie, Siegel plays a gregarious dealer who sells steroids to Mickey Rourke's Randy (The Ram) Robinson in a wrestling venue locker room. An actor who played a steroid dealer in "The Wrestler" was arrested on steroid charges Wednesday night after rumbling with agents on a drug task force, officials said.
Verne Gagne
Verne Gagne, 82, has been named a suspect in the death of Helmut R. Gutman, 97. The two were were roommates at the Friendship Village Home. Both men suffered from Alzheimer's Disease-related dementia. It has been reported Gutman and Gagne had an altercation on January 26th. Gagne threw Gutman to the floor, which caused him to suffer a broken leg and head injury, which required hospitalization. Gutman passed away twenty days after the injuries were sustained, on February 14.
Police believe that Verne Gagne may have contributed to the January death of Helmut R. Gutmann, who lived with him in the Bloomington living facility, Friendship Village. Gagne and 97-year-old Gutmann, who both suffer from Alzheimer's-related dementia, allegedly got into a fight on Jan. 26 that led to Gutmann's death. Gutmann suffered a broken leg and a head injury in the fight. He was hospitalized, then released, but then was re-hospitalized due to complications. Four days ago, Gutmann died.
Verne Gagne first entered the world of wrestling in 1949. Before long, he became the perennial champion and owner/promoter of the American Wrestling Association. He was a host of the weekly TV show, All-Star Wrestling, the highest-rated show on local prime-time television for nearly 40 years. Over the years, Gagne influenced the careers of Vachon, the Crusher, Andre the Giant, Hulk Hogan, and Jesse Ventura. He was inducted into the World Pro Wrestling Hall of Hame in 1999. Gagne's signature wrestling move was a sleeper hold.
Jack Valenti
Jack Valenti died two years ago at age 85, he was playing the role of intermediary between Washington and Hollywood as the theatrical, snowy-haired president of the Motion Picture Association of America. But back in 1964, Valenti was a Houston ad executive newly installed at the White House as a top aide to President Lyndon B. Johnson. And J. Edgar Hoover's FBI found itself quietly consumed with the vexing question of whether Valenti was gay.
Fascinating piece in the Washington Post today about how the FBI under J. Edgar Hoover investigated the sexual orientation of Jack Valenti, who led the Motion Picture Association of America for many years. It was all part of the smears and witchhunts of the era by Hoover (who of course has been described in the gossipy book by British author Anthony Summers -- though it was never really proven -- to have been a gay crossdresser.) According to the Post the Republican Party too was conducting its own such "investigation" of Valenti.
Previously confidential FBI files show that Hoover's deputies set out to determine whether Valenti, who had married two years earlier, maintained a relationship with a male commercial photographer. Republican Party operatives reportedly were pursuing a parallel investigation with the help of a retired FBI agent, bureau files show. No proof was ever found, but the files, obtained by The Washington Post under the federal Freedom of Information Act, provide further insight into the conduct of the FBI under Hoover, for whom damaging personal information on the powerful was a useful tool in his interactions with presidents from Franklin D. Roosevelt to Richard M. Nixon.
Lykke Li
Lykke Li answered the phone with a sweet, Swedish accent. The singer-songwriter was preparing for her concert the night of Friday the 13th by doing nothing. It was one of the last shows in her third tour of the country, which ends tonight after a gig at Antone’s. The Daily Texan spoke with her about home, music and life in the limelight.
Lykke Li: I was frustrated on life. I wanted to get out of Stockholm, and I wanted to start life, so it’s about that situation. But it’s really hard pinning down one song. I mean, I write songs and I don’t really know exactly what moment kind of feels like [it’s] reflecting on life itself. LL: It was very much so a collaboration. It was me and him like pulling. You know, a tug of war. But at the same time we have the same vision, so it was a fabulous experience.
LL: It’s Stockholm, but I’m not there. Home right now is a bunk in the bus. I’ve been on tour for a long time, so I haven’t got the chance to be there much at all this last year. I don’t know how it feels to be back ‘cause I haven’t had time off. LL: I know it’s a good place to be creative ‘cause nothing really happens. I work by myself, you know, and when I’m done with songs I work with my producers so I don’t really know how the rest is. [It’s] not so much of a scene as people think it is.
American Idol results
American Idol results show He informs us that 10 million more votes were cast than this time last year. Idol appears to be as popular as ever. And now... THE GROUP SING! One of my favorite parts of the semi-finals and finals. It's so cheezy and awful. Tonight Brent, Michael and Anoop kick us off on "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz with some snazzy snapping and swaying. They send it over to Stephen, Danny and Ricky.
Finally some results. Casey Carlson is brought down to the Circle of Death first. Just a side note: Circle of Death is the lesser-known Lion King hit. Anyway, Casey is (OF COURSE) not through. Stephen Fowler is next and he isn't through either. He tries to defend his performance/song choice but we all know better, don't we? Finally, we get Alexis Grace as our first contestant through to the Top 12.
Our next group of results starts with Jackie Tohn and Ricky Braddy. Neither of them are through and I am not surprised. Jackie was bad and Ricky hasn't had enough screen-time to be popular, which is an unfortunate feature of this show. Our next pair is Michael Sarver and Anoop Desai. Wow, Anoop is TALL! And then I think Randy calls Michael fat. Snerk. And then Michael is through to the Top 12. I'm not shocked.
Yuri Sucart
Yuri Sucart, a cousin, injected him from 2001 to 2003 with an over-the-counter product they bought in the Dominican Republic. He had denied using PEDs previously but Sports Illustrated earlier this month broke the story about his positive test. Carmen Sucart declined to provide the name of her husband's lawyer. As the producer stood in front of the house, a teenage boy asked him to leave and said his father would not be talking.
As far back as anyone can remember, Yuri Sucart was always by Alex Rodriguez's side. Sucart would tell anyone who would listen he was Rodriguez's cousin. But he was also Rodriguez's best friend, confidant and personal protector. On Tuesday, when Rodriguez said in a nationally televised news conference from New York Yankees spring training in Tampa, Fla., that it was his cousin who provided and injected him with performance-enhancing drugs, it was Sucart to whom Rodriguez was referring, Sucart's wife, Carmen, confirmed to ESPN on Wednesday night.
When an ESPN Deportes producer knocked on the Sucarts' door in Miami, Fla., no one answered. The producer then called the Sucarts' house on the telephone and reached a woman who later identified herself as Yuri Sucart's wife. When the producer asked if Rodriguez had referred to her husband at Tuesday's news conference, she said yes. "Yuri was a mule, not a guy who would initiate anything," a friend once close to Rodriguez said Wednesday.

Al Sharpton
The Reverend Al Sharpton is putting the smack down on the New York Post -- suggesting racism could be a factor in a political cartoon featured in this morning's edition. The cartoon (by Sean Delonas) comes in the wake of yesterday's national news story about the cop who shot and killed a rampaging chimp in Connecticut. But the controversy in the comic comes from the dialogue between the two officers -- which reads, "Now they will have to find someone else to write the stimulus bill."
The Rev. Al Sharpton says a New York Post cartoon that appears to link President Obama to a violent chimpanzee is "troubling at best." The cartoon in Wednesday's Post by Sean Delonas shows a dead chimp and two police officers, one with a smoking gun. The cartoon refers to Travis the chimp, who was shot to death by police in Stamford, Conn., on Monday after it mauled a friend of its owner. It links the chimp to Obama, who signed his administration's economic stimulus plan on Tuesday.
Before most of you woke up, Sharpton already fired off a statement saying, "The cartoon in today's New York Post is troubling at best given the historic racist attacks of African-Americans as being synonymous with monkeys. One has to question whether the cartoonist is making a less than casual reference to this when in the cartoon they have police saying after shooting a chimpanzee that "Now they will have to find someone else to write the stimulus bill."
Dial Idol
Dial Idol gives the top spot to Danny Gokey, the only contestant who seems to be safe. Alexis Grace is second and third spot to Michael Sarver. I think Anoop Dawg deserves a spot too, and even Tatiana Del Toro--though I find her insanely disturbed. This elimination process is tough. It’s Christmas in February, folks, and to extend the metaphor, Joanna Pacitti is the one Jewish kid in town. Sorry you were qualified last week, Joanna! The sun’ll come out tomorrow. Oops, bad choice.
“American Idol” semi-finals are here! And as an “Idol” fanatic and live-blogger, I couldn’t be happier. This is the time we learn what the contestants are all about, separate from the producers grubby hands manipulating their audition backstories. I live for the semi-finals, because for every great Jason Castro break-out, there are 4 Nicole Tranquillo hot messes. So let’s sit back and take in the TRUE beginning of “Idol: Season 8.” (And if the “Idol” Song Spoilers are to be believed, we’re in for a lot of insanity.) On with the blogging!
Before we get to tonight’s live-blog, big shout out to MTV.COM user kitgyrl who made me chuckle last week during the “Judge’s Mansion” ridiculousness by writing, “In Texas when we tell someone ‘You’re through,’ [it means] your’re done…finished…kaput…So, when they say this on the show, it confuses me.” Kitgyrl, this show confuses me, too. But for different reasons. Namely, Tatiana. 8:00 pm - The first group of 12 are standing on the steps like the Brady Bunch. And Tatiana is nodding her head like a bobble head. Let’s hope America plays Sam The Butcher and cuts that mess from our show! Boo!

Mega Million
Mega Millions and the keno-like Quick Draw are down. Lotto, which in 2001 took in close to $500 million, took in just $164 million last year, a 20.1% drop from 2007, state figures show. Still, overall lottery sales totaled $7.8 billion - a 3.1% jump over 2007. "We're up slightly [overall]," New York Lottery spokeswoman Carolyn Hapeman said. "In this economy, that's the good news."
Mega Millions, which promises a minimum $12 million jackpot, saw its sales drop 2.8%, or $14.4 million, from the $508.5 million in 2007. "We're up slightly [overall]," New York Lottery spokeswoman Carolyn Hapeman said. "In this economy, that's the good news." Sales at eight video slot machine parlors located at race tracks around the state totaled just under $1 billion, a healthy 14.4% increase.
Hapeman said high gas prices likely made some players forgo trips to places like Atlantic City and instead gamble at video slot machine parlors in places like Yonkers. The gains by the video slot machine parlors may have impacted the more traditional games, but Hapeman also noted that there were far fewer mega jackpots last year to stir up bigger sales. "It's a jackpot-driven business," Hapeman said. "If there is a huge jackpot and if it captures the imagination, they will play."
Ohio Lottery
Ohio Lottery spokeswoman Jeannie Roberts said Mega Millions sales are down 16 percent in Ohio from this time last year, but added that it may not be tied to the economy. A Vandalia couple also won $5 million in an Ohio Lottery scratch-off game in December. Nobody won the top prize in the last Mega Millions lottery drawing – maybe Friday the 13th affected your luck – so tonight's jackpot has reached $103 million.
She said Mega Millions sales are significantly affected by the size of the jackpot, and there has been only one drawing for more than $50 million in nearly six months. The lump-sum payout for tonight's drawing is estimated at $67.6 million before taxes, meaning roughly $45 million in the winner's pocket after all is said and done. If there is no winner tonight, Friday's jackpot will be $120 million.
But don't get your hopes too high. Yes, the Ohio Lottery uses the slogan "Odds are, you'll have fun," but at roughly 175 million to one, the odds certainly aren't that you'll win $103 million. In fact, the odds of winning any Mega Millions prize (from $2 on up) is 1 in 40. Judging by the steady stream of customers at lottery counters, an awful lot of people are hoping to be that one.

Turkey Vulture
Turkey vulture No. 16 made an impressive exit from captivity as he flew away from the small crowd gathered to see his release into Nelson County at Cherry Hill Farm in Arrington last week. The creature flexed its large wingspan and skimmed the ground before soaring out of sight. The vulture was found Jan. 14 in a Staunton resident’s backyard and rescued by Shane Ayers of Staunton Animal Control before being taken to the Wildlife Center’s Waynesboro clinic.
The male vulture, which had been convalescing at the Wildlife Center of Virginia’s Waynesboro clinic after being treated for a gunshot wound to the left wing, was freed Feb. 6 by Lee Schaeffer, a wildlife rehabilitator with the center. It didn’t seem to care about the ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ it elicited from the crowd behind him, but it possibly appeared to have given a “thank you” wave to caregivers before disappearing into the tree line.
“The end of its left wing it had lost some feathers and more seriously, had some broken bones,” said Randy Huwa, the center’s executive vice president. “It seriously compromised its ability to fly and its ability to eat. So when it came to us it was not in great shape.” “The vulture has been in one of our flight pens and actually it flies really well,” Huwa said. “Its still missing feathers but those will grow in. We’re hopeful that this guy is ready to go back and make it on his own.”
Milo Ventimiglia
Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia have called off their relationship, according to reports. "It was a lifestyle conflict," a source close to the couple tells Us Weekly, adding that the split happened within the last week. The source tells Us that Hayden Panettiere, 19, "is young. She likes to go out in the Hollywood scene and that's not his style."
"Heroes" co-stars Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia have broken up, US Weekly exclusively reported in a post on its site, dated February 16. Citing a source close to the couple, the news media claimed their separation happened within the last week and was prompted by "a lifestyle conflict." Despite their separation, Hayden and Milo "are still on friendly terms. There are no hard feelings" between them, the source told US Weekly.
Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia sparked dating rumors in late 2007. However, it wasn't until several months later that they went public with their romance. Days prior to their reported separation, rumors emerged that Hayden was seen cuddling with pop singer Jesse McCartney at Crown Bar. Hayden was said to be "all over" Jesse. She reportedly was caught holding the 21-year-old hunk tightly, sitting on his lap, and doing some crazy sexy dance on Jesse's lap.
Muzzammil Hassan
Muzzammil Hassan is the founder and chief executive officer of Bridges TV, which he launched in 2004, amid hopes that it would help portray Muslims in a more positive light. "Orchard Park police are investigating a particularly gruesome killing, the beheading of a woman, after her husband — an influential member of the local Muslim community — reported her death to police Thursday.
muzzammil Hassan had a great idea: he established a television station to run programming that would counter stereotypes about Muslims. That sounds like a fine plan…but then his wife asked for a divorce, and his response was to murder and decapitate her, which rather confirms a particularly nasty stereotype. Unless, perhaps, it's not a stereotype, but simply a fact that Islam is a patriarchal religion of misogyny.
Muzzammil Hassan, 44, is accused of second degree murder of Aasiya Hassan, whose body was found last week at the TV station in New York state. Both Mr Hassan and his wife worked at Bridges TV, a station aimed at countering stereotypes of Muslims. Authorities said Mrs Hassan, 37, had recently filed for divorce. The couple had two children, aged four and six. Bridges TV, a satellite-distributed news and opinion channel, was founded by Mr Hassan in 2004 and was based in a suburb in Buffalo, in upstate New York.
Asiya Hasan
Aasiya Hassan whose life was taken violently. To God we belong and to Him we return (Qur’an 2:156). We pray that she find peace in God’s infinite Mercy, and our prayers and sympathies are with sister Aasiya’s family. Our prayers are also with the Muslim community of Buffalo who have been devastated by the loss of their beloved sister and the shocking nature of this incident.
This is a wake up call to all of us, that violence against women is real and can not be ignored. It must be addressed collectively by every member of our community. Several times each day in America, a woman is abused or assaulted. Domestic violence is a behavior that knows no boundaries of religion, race, ethnicity, or social status. Domestic violence occurs in every community.
Marriage is a relationship that should be based on love, mutual respect and kindness. No one who experiences a marriage that is built on these principles would pretend that their life is in danger. We must respond to all complaints or reports of abuse as genuine and we must take appropriate and immediate action to ensure the victim’s safety, as well as the safety of any children that may be involved.
Chimp attack
Chimp attack attacked a woman who is at her friend's home in Stamford, Connecticut, police said. Charla Nash, 55, had just arrived at her friend Sandra Herold's house when the chimp, named Travis, jumped on her and began biting and mauling her, causing serious injuries to her face, neck and hands, according to Stamford Police Capt. Rich Conklin, who said the attack was unprovoked.
Herold had called Nash to her house to help get 14-year-old Travis back inside after he used a key to escape. While her friend was being attacked, Herold tried to pull the primate off her, but was unsuccessful. She then called 911 before stabbing the chimp with butcher knife and hitting him with a shovel. A woman has been hospitalized in critical condition after being attacked at a friends' home by a pet 200 pound chimpanzee who had appeared in television commercials.
Charla Nash, 55, had been attacked by the chimp, Travis, after she went to Sandra Herold's house to help the woman get Travis back into the house. The chimp had used a key to get out of the house and after Herold was unsuccessful in luring the chimp back into the house she had called Nash. Authorities were called to escort medical workers to the woman so they could treat her wounds and transport her to the hospital. But officers had to shoot and kill Travis after the chimp attacked police and then opened the car door where the police officer had taken cover.

Ted Ammon
Ted Ammon was an American financier and Investment Banker. He was murdered by Daniel Pelosi, the boyfriend of Ammon's wife. JPMorgan Chase & Co. took the unusual step of challenging her as co-executor of the estate, as she and Pelosi were considered persons of interest in Ted's murder. However, the firm eventually compromised with Generosa, enabling her to inherit the money.
Ammon graduated from Bucknell University, then followed his first wife to London, where he worked as a Solicitor. His second wife, Generosa Rand, was a realtor he met during an apartment search; they married in 1986. The couple adopted twins from the Ukraine, Gregory and Alexa. Their five homes included two townhouses in Manhattan and an estate in Surrey, England.
His marriage turned hostile after Generosa found a receipt for a divorce lawyer in Ted's desk. They were days from finalizing their divorce when he was found beaten to death in the East Hamptons vacation home. Because their divorce was not finalized and Ted's will had not been updated, Generosa inherited his estate in its entirety. On 15 January 2002, Generosa married Pelosi, then sold the properties she had owned with Ammon.
Nuclear submarine
nuclear submarine was involved in a collision in the middle of the Atlantic, it was reported. The crash between HMS Vanguard and French submarine Le Triomphant, which was also carrying nuclear warheads, is believed to have occurred on February 3 or 4, The Sun claimed." A nuclear submarine seems to be about 140 meters with a radius of 12. So that's a volume of about 16000 cubic meters.
The Atlantic ocean is 354,700,000 cubic kilometers. There are 1 000 000 000 cubic metres is a cubic kilometer. Of course subs can only dive to about 400 metres. So say they stay in the top 300 meters then the volume might be more like 106.4 million km squared * 300 meters=30 million cubic km.
This is assuming a submarine is a cylinder which it isn't.How many nuclear submarines are there? There seems to be about 50 in the world. Navies will keep their own submarines separate. But that still means there are nearly 50 submarines that the French or UK subs could run into. This does reduce the number of subs the Russians Or Americans can hit significantly though. They have a top speed of about 40 km per hour. So I assume they are wandering around at 30kph.
Emma Forest
Emma Forrest – who began secretly dating early last year because of his lack of commitment. An insider told In Touch Weekly magazine: “He would not introduce her to his family. She was also upset that he didn’t thank her at the Golden Globe Awards.” Emma has confirmed the pair are no longer dating, but insists they will remain friends.
Farrell – who picked up the Best Actor award at last month’s ceremony for his role as a hitman in ‘In Bruges’ - was believed to have moved to Los Angeles so he could be near Emma. Colin recently sparked romance rumours after he was reportedly seen locking lips with Salma Hayek. A source said: "He held her face and kissed her several times. It was very intimate, not like they were just pals."
Colin Farrell has split from girlfriend Emma Forest. The pair - who were first linked last year - apparently decided to end their relationship because the Alexander star refused to introduce Forest, a novelist, to his family. A source tells In Touch Weekly, “He would not introduce her to his family. She was also upset that he didn’t thank her at the Golden Globe Awards. When Farrell and Forest started dating, sources close to the Irish actor said he had become a “changed man”.
Atlanta Motor Speedway
Atlanta Motor Speedway for $17 beginning Monday morning thanks to the win by Matt Kenseth in the Daytona 500 Sunday. Why? Kenseth drives the number 17 Ford and officials at the Atlanta Motor Speedway announced that 1,000 $95 tickets will be sold at a price matching the number of the winning car at Daytona. After those 1,000 tickets are sold, fans will be able to buy one regularly priced ticket and get a second for just $17.Last year after Ryan Newman won in the number 12 Dodge, the tickets were sold for just $12.
NASCAR fans will be able to buy tickets to the Kobalt Tools 500 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway for $17 beginning Monday morning thanks to the win by Matt Kenseth in the Daytona 500 Sunday. That's because Kenseth drives the number 17 Ford and officials at the Atlanta Motor Speedway announced that 1,000 $95 tickets will be sold at a price matching the number of the winning car at Daytona.
At a time when tickets are hard to move, Lowe’s Motor Speedway is tearing down a 9,000-seat grandstand between Turns 1 and 2 and replacing it with a luxury motorcoach camping area that will overlook the speedway. Marcus Smith, the speedway’s president and general manager, said luxury camping is in high demand among both corporate clients and general fans. “These areas have been very appealing,” Smith said. “What we’ve seen at our other tracks is that all of these spaces sell out and it’s something we should take to other properties.”
