Atlanta Traffic

Atlanta Traffic
Atlanta and rain does not do well for Atlanta traffic. Overnight the Atlanta metro area has received a significant amount of rain and it has played havoc on many of the area roads. Flash floods are expected throughout most of the area as overnight there has been from 3 to 12 inches of rain from the thunderstorms that continue to be widespread over the area. Many roads are flooded and impassible. This has pretty much killed the morning commute in Atlanta. Many of the news stations such as Fox 5 Atlanta and Channel 11 have suggested that people stay home if possible. There is another 1-5 inches forcasted throughout the day. There just is not enough capacity to get rid of the water on the roads. Finding Gas in Atlanta is becoming more and more of a problem. Atlanta has had a gas shortage for a couple of weeks now. The Atlanta Gas shortage started as a result of Hurricane Ike and the many people rushing to fill up their gas tanks prior to the Hurricane.
One of the best places I know of to eat barbeque is Dreamland BBQ. Dreamland has restaurants in many parts of Alabama and Atlanta and all of them that I've attended have been excellent. Dreamland BBQ is a local Birmingham barbeque restaurant which was able to expand and open locations Spaghetti Junction was reopened traffic at mid-morning after weather-related problems closed the I-285/I-85 interchange, one of metro Atlanta's busiest intersections, for several hours. The closure was caused by slow-moving water and numerous minor accidents, according to State DOT spokesman Bryan Gunter. Gunter said that many motorists avoided the area as word of the closure spread, and that traffic on the interstates in the area was actually lighter than normal Standing water closed two right lanes on I-75 southbound just north of the Brookwood interchange. Traffic was baced up to Northside Drive.
