BlackBerry Internet Service is an Internet solution for BlackBerry smartphones. The BIS comes from a wireless service provider and you can use it if you ask your carrier for a BlackBerry data plan. Thanks to the BlackBerry Internet Service, users can easily manage up to 10 personal or work email accounts, and to make use of official IM services like Yahoo! Messenger, Gtalk, Windows Live Messenger, AOL Instant Messenger, and ICQ.
In order to improve user’s BlackBerry Internet experience, RIM has released an update to the BlackBerry Internet Service 2.7 a couple of weeks ago. The new features of the BlackBerry Internet Service 2.7 include email account integration, and better usability. The improvements are available through a knowledge base patch called KB18305 which is now available through the software update for BlackBerry smartphones users.
The KB18305 comes with an improved Help Screen that will allow users to send service books, access BlackBerry Answers, and access the BlackBerry Help site on a BlackBerry smartphone among others. Thanks to this BIS 2.7 KB, users can also close the Email Settings app with ease. Last, but not least, the BIS user interface is now available in two new languages, Thai and Indonesian.
