On Wednesday, Father Kennedy filed an application to restrain the archbishop and the Corporation of Trustees of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese from removing him as church administrator.
In his Supreme Court of Queensland application he is seeking the withdrawal of the canon law decree of removal from office, made by Archbishop Bathersby on February 19. Father Kennedy's application also called for an order that the Archbishop and the Archdiocese be required to deal with Fr Kennedy's employment in accordance with "the method of proceeding in administrative recourse and in the removal and transfer of pastors".
