NH lottery

New Hampshire Lottery announce that 42-year-old John Kasparek of Brookline has claimed the last $1 million dollar prize in the $10 “NH Millionaire’s Club” instant scratch game. Kasparek claimed his ticket at lottery headquarters today and elected to take the one time lump sum cash payment of $650,000 before taxes. The Souhegan Valley seems to be home to instant millionaires these days.
The $10 “NH Millionaire’s Club” game debuted in stores on March 16, 2007. The first of the two $1m instant tickets was won by George and Marlene Muncy of Amherst on October 9, 2007. And just hours before Kasparek came forward, James Buchanan of Lyndeborough turned in the final $1 million winner from the $30 Million Dollar Riches game. Lottery officials said that ticket was bought at Silva Mart Meat Shoppe in Milford - although the Silva store was sold and changed its name more than a year ago.
The win by Kasparek, a math teacher at Milford High School, was right down to the wire, as after two years on the market and more than 97.4% of tickets sold, the scratch game was being pulled from stores amid concerns the $1 million winner would not be found. Now that both instant million dollar prizes have been claimed, the Lottery can prepared for the “second chance drawing” in which a third million dollar prize will be awarded.
