National Marathon

The National Marathon is scheduled for Saturday. Meanwhile, Metro will be working on the Red, Blue and Orange Line tracks, causing travel delays. Here are details about those events, and some other things related to your upcoming travels. Metro says 41 of its bus routes will be affected by the street closings and has updated its Web site to provide these details. Metrorail is opening two hours early, at 5 a.m., because of the marathon.
Heads up guys, H Street will be closed from 4th Street to 13th Street part of tomorrow morning for the National Marathon. The predicted closing hours are 7:35-9:45am. Track maintenance on the Red, Blue and Orange lines this weekend will delay travelers for 20 to 30 minutes as trains take turns on a single track around the work zones.
The National Marathon and Half Marathon start at 7 a.m. and finish at 1 p.m. RFK Stadium is the start and end point, but the runners go through two big loops across six of the District's eight wards. There will be numerous street closings while the runners pass, and there will be traffic delays. The plan does not affect parking on those streets, though you won't be able to move your car as the runners are passing. See maps and more information about street closures.
