A.J. Jewell was killed during a brawl at the Atlanta strip club Body Tap at 1271 Marietta Boulevard yesterday. Jewell, the father of six children, was taken to Piedmont Hospital where he was pronounced dead of massive head injuries on Friday, October 2, 2009. Kandi’s publicist Lisa Nelson reported that her client is “stunned and speechless” after learning of the brutal death. She indicates that the family is asking for privacy during this very difficult time. Atlanta Police Lt. Keith Meadows said, “It appears he was involved in an altercation in the parking lot and he received a severe blow to the head. We have developed a person of interest and we’ve made contact with him to question him about the incident. No arrests have yet been made in the case. The 33 year old singer, songwriter and businesswoman began dating Ashley A.J. Jewell of Atlanta in early 2009 and the couple became engaged to be married. In August, Burruss and Jewell called off the engagement and later ended their romantic relationship completely, though Jewell was quoted as saying they remained “good friends”. Though he moved out of Burruss’ home, she is the legal guardian of his 12-year-old twin daughters who remain in her care.

Burruss' publicist Lisa Nelson confirmed the info in the first hours of Saturday morning to WSB that the actress has been informed and the situation confirmed. The incident, now public, is meeting a request from the family for privacy. Police official reports note the base of the argumentative brawl is unclear and that no arrests have been made at this time. According to Wikipedia.com, the Georgia native is a Grammy-award winning singer and songwriter and was engaged to fiance Ashley Jewell (AJ).
